Becoming a Young Adult Responsive Parish Workshop

The Office for Catechesis for the diocese is offering a pre-conference option associated with the Diocesan Adult Enrichment Conference.  This session is on becoming a young adult friendly parish.  Young adults in their 20s and 30s are increasingly on the move and increasingly moving away from our parishes. To be most effective in responding to this reality, we must understand young adults and their spiritual needs, and create new models of evangelization and parish ministries to welcome, support and engage them and their families. This afternoon session will open up a conversation on these challenges and the possibilities that lie ahead, as well as provide practical assessments, resources and tips for becoming a young adult responsive parish.  The workshop starts at 1:00 PM at the Decatur Conference Center and Hotel on Saturday, November 15.  For more information or to register, please contact Kyle Holtgrave, Associate Director for Youth & Young Adult Ministry for the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois at (217) 698-8500, ext. 154.

Our
Mission is simple.  We want...

1. To help young adults develop their spiritual life rooted in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

2.  To help young adults develop relationships with peers who share similar values and beliefs which nurture and strengthen their faith.

3.  To invite young adults to participate in the life of the Church through worship, faith formation programs, and community service.

We hope you will join us each and every Sunday evening at 6:30 p.m. for Mass in the St. Viator Chapel within the Catholic Pastoral Center.  All ages are welcome.
