It is with a bittersweet heart that we announce that the Sunday, September 11, 2016 Mass will be the last Mass at St. Viator Chapel at the Catholic Pastoral Center for YAM. This announcement is bitter in the sense that St. Viator Chapel has been “home” for so long ~ since November 29 of 2009 to be exact! Many memories have been made during that time.
The good news is that YAM is not going away simply because there will no longer be a Mass at St. Viator Chapel. Young adult ministry will be a new focus for several parishes in the area. St. Katharine Drexel has already been hosting an outreach program for young adults. Fr. House at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception is ready to start a young adult ministry in conjunction with their 5 PM Mass. And other parishes in the area are looking at how they can better reach out to young adults, too!
Much like the Paschal Mystery that is key to our faith, this “death” by leaving St. Viator Chapel is allowing new life to grow by focusing on the opportunities that being involved in the life of a parish now has to offer. We hope you can join us as we journey to a new chapter in the weeks to come!
